We're Here to Listen
Professional people are creative and ingenious, with the ability to persevere and overcome so many of the difficulties and trauma that life throws at us. But occasionally there are situations that are more challenging, overwhelming, or are outside of our realm of experience and we need to ask for help, precisely when it seems the hardest thing in the world to do.
Every challenge we face is an opportunity for growth and many of the skills and tools that may have helped us overcome trials earlier in life may no longer serve us. We need to find new ways of functioning in our relationships with our colleagues and loved ones as well as ourselves. Therapy is an effective way to explore many of the thoughts, feelings and ideas you have that may conflict with the expression of your best self.
Because it is our relationship that will create the space for your success, I want you to know that I will do my best to help you to feel safe and comfortable from the start. This will lay the groundwork for exploration. Together we can identify and process your individual patterns of thoughts and behaviors in order to find clarity and give you the choice to do things differently using your own inner strength.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are common experiences that let us know that something within us needs to be tended to. Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life. I will help you uncover the unconscious 'shoulds' that often bind us from living freely.
Many individuals experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances from early childhood loss to physical injuries. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. I can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
Relationships benefit when both individuals are in therapy separately as well as together. I focus on individual counseling to help you identify unconscious patterns and communication styles that no longer work, as well as help you find better ways of building trust and closeness.

My purpose is to help you to find meaning in your life, to play joyfully and to love freely. If you are struggling with the aftermath of the pandemic and the way it has upended the "normal" world, you are not alone.
I have been a therapist for over 20 years and have extensive training in the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM) and Somatic Experiencing as well as being a Licensed Psychologist. I also have very broad experience with clients in recovery from many types of addiction, such as alcohol/drugs as well as the socially approved kind like "work-aholism" and co-dependence.
I assist professionals under pressure to "deliver" and not choke up & help them rediscover their creativity and joy, as well as individuals wanting to have more comfort in their day to day life. If you suffer with career burnout, anxiety, depression, trauma, addictions, relationship issues and/or major life transitions, please contact me with any questions you may have about how I can help. I offer live and telehealth sessions.
